Master Gracey hopped on the freedom train in October from the badlands of Mexico! After several connecting transports, he made his way to San Antonio where he spent the night with a temporary foster and worried everyone by having a seizure. At his next-day vet appointment for an intake exam and neuter, he tested positive for Ehrlichia, a common, preventable tick-borne disease. He also needed a shave down to relieve him of mats, which revealed numerous cigarette burns on his back. It’s no wonder that he showed some fear and mistrust of humans as well as reactivity to strangers – he didn’t know we were all trying to help him! When he arrived in his foster home, he spent a few hours cowering and hiding under tables. But slowly, he came out of his shell. Soon he wanted nothing more than to be near his foster mom. Now he is a happy, happy dog! He loves to play catch so much, he even plays alone! Then a few days before Christmas 2024, sweet MG found his forever home where he will receive all the love and attention he deserves! ~ Lori, foster mom
