Mary Ann aka "Donut" is just the nicest girl. Why do we call her Donut? Well, because she's sweet and round (she's working on that, thank you very much). When she first came to us a couple of months ago, she was pretty overweight and in desperate need of double total ear canal ablations. She had her surgery, went through a bit of a food strike when she realized she couldn't get chicken pot pie in recovery and then set about healing and giving us those puppy dog eyes that she's so very good at. We made it through recovery quite a few pounds lighter and these days she's different dog: a lot lighter and wiggly and really happy. She is mostly deaf now, but we promise you she can still hear a can opener. What's been really fun is seeing her personality emerge. It's amazing what not being in daily pain will do for somedog's outlook. Mary Ann is not quite 6 years old (next month is her birthday), so she's well settled--she doesn't do zoomies unless there are cookies involved, but she will happily plop down next to you for cuddles & Netflix. She LOVES to go on walks--she's really friendly with everyone and lives companionably with other dogs.
